This weeks entry is what I'll call a dual functionality website. That is to say, I am using the website here on this blog because it is an awesome example of the use of Flash and I am also using this website as an example for my project 4 research. I found this site on The Webby Awards.

What more can I say ? Check out the site and see for your self. His art can get a little weird but the site's animation is cool.

This weeks choice comes from CSS DESIGN AWARDS.
The company is EuroChem and the site is really cool from an animation perspective.
You can use your mouse and scroll wheel to navigate the site. Watch the various effects in each scene... don't miss the students exiting the train and lining up for graduation.

This weeks nomination for an award winning web design comes from "The Webby Awards."
The Webby Awards Logo
It can be found under the "Best Use of Animation or Motion Graphics" section.

This may not look like an award winning web site, but the ingenuity behind the whole concept is pretty cool. You choose an episode and proceed to draw your stickman. In the end, after you have completed the story, you have the option to buy a t-shirt with "YOUR" stickman on it !

After playing it a few times you begin to get creative, especially knowing that what you draw can and will be printed on YOUR t-shirt afterwards.

Would you buy a t-shirt here... with your creativity displayed on it ???

I've got you thinking now... don't I ?

Give it a try, draw your own stickman and slay the dragon !

I am sorry to say that I have failed to record the source of this website find.
I was browsing through 4 or 5 different magazines in a real hurry looking for that "ONE" great website when I found this one. After checking it out and deciding that this was an "Award Winning Web Site", I just wrote down the link  and proceeded to hunt for more.

This site is reminiscent of everything that "Web 2.0" is supposed to represent... I think.

Just what defines "Award Winning Web Design"?
Well, if you yourself are the judge and jury, then "you" decide what is and isn't.

In the September 2012 issue of Digital Arts magazine I found this young artist and checked out his site. Actually, I've checked out the sites of many designers and artists this evening, but I like this one.

Kirven Brisseaux is an illustrator and designer with quite an impressive portfolio.
He's got quite an impressive web site too.

Another correction to my blogging assignment.

This "Award Winning Web Design" was found on the GDUSA American Web Design Award site.
The site is Strategic Workplaces.

The main thing that I notice when looking for "Winning" sites is simplicity and a clean design devoid of clutter.

This is a correction to my blog assignment.

This site "Actualise Design" was discovered on the Interactive Media Awards web site.
Actualise Design is a web site design firm that claims to have 48 hour turnaround service.

That's hard to beat.

Check out this site, you won't be disappointed.
You might note too, that the site is written in php ! (index.php) although I couldn't tell the difference between php and html myself.
